KARA & MATT'S ENGAGEMENT SHOOT - LONDON

Well some of you may have seen these already! But we can't miss the opportunity to have them on here too...
It was off to London to meet up with Kara & Matt, starting off in Covent Garden before heading off to Smithfield market and then the South Bank, ment it was an early start to beet the crowds!

LUCIE & NOLAN'S WEDDING - THE BELL SANDWICH

Firstly, I'd like to appologise for the lack of posts recently, it has been a fantastic summer for AWOL Photography, especially with the move to Faversham at the beginning of the summer (we still have boxes at the parents in Canterbury that we have to unpack!). We've been very busy and had great fun - unfortunately this also meant that time was short and the blog suffered, over the next few days I'll try and get you up to date, so in no particular order....

It was The Bell at Sandwich that played host to Lucie & Nolan's wedding, and what a great one it was. A fantastic day was had by all, and we even managed to get out for a quick wander round Sandwich for a few photos...

WINNIE & GEE'S WEDDING - WOBURN ABBEY

The beautiful setting of Woburn Abbey's Sculpture Gallery played host to Winnie & Gee's wedding back on the 1st of June. With great weather and stunning surroundings, it was always going to be hard not to enjoy ourselves! What an amazing day. The Scuplture Gallery is one of the finest wedding venues in the country - as you can see from a small sample of Winnie & Gee's album, they really did make the most of it!

Sarah & Daniel's Engagement Session

This time it was up to London to meet up with Sarah & Daniel for their E shoot, meeting up at Tower Hill, we went off for a walk around the City, and then back down to the Thames for a stunning sunset!
Sarah and Daniel are getting married at East Molesey, Surrey in August.

Laura & Matt's Engagement Session

It's catch up time again, after a very busy couple of months we have lots to bring you up to date on... Firstly Laura & Matt's E session at Whitstable, these guys are getting married in September at the Dog Inn, Wingham, in Kent.

Rebecca & Brad's Wedding - Broadstairs

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside,
I do like to be beside the sea,
I do like to stroll along the prom, prom, prom,
Where the brassbands play Tiddley-om-pom-pom!

I'm sure you get the picture! It was off to Broadstairs for Becky & Brad's wedding at the Fayreness Hotel, and of course we couldn't be that close to the sea without getting down to the beach! Botany Bay really is one of Kent's hidden gems, and as it was blowing a bit on Saturday, it was deserted :) I'm not too sure Becky was convinced when I pointed out where she'd need to stand (it was only a little bit wet!) but I had to make the most of her fantastic red dress, hopefully this will make it worthwhile...




Here's a few more for you, but there's more on the way, we're off to do an after shoot next week... (hopefully it won't be blowing a gale this time!)

Nigel & Anna's Wedding - London

It was a bit of a change for us last week with a shorter than normal coverage as the wedding photographer for Nigel & Anna's wedding in London. Meeting up at Marylebone registry office then off to Regent's Park for some photos in the sun, before it was back in the Limo and round to the Ritz for cocktails. Unfortunately the Ritz have a very strict policy on photography, so we were a bit limited until we walked down to Le Caprice for a couple more pics before dinner (Le Caprice being Nigel's personal favourite!)

Juliet & Peter's E-Shoot - Broadstairs

We are starting to become regulars down at Broadstairs, (and of a particular little coffee shop!) This time we met up with Juliet & Peter, who have just got married in South Africa - (Jules' home) and are looking forward to the English part of the celebrations, with a blessing in St Peters followed by a reception at the Pavilion back in Broadstairs.
Back to Sunday, it was great to see Jules so excited by everything 'seaside' I guess we all get a bit used to it, and forget how lucky we are! and she didn't even mind the slightly exuberant cuddle she got from Bodie - our new doggy, more about him soon...

Linda & Trevor's E-Shoot - Whitstable

Last Sunday saw us meeting up with Linda & Trevor in Whitstable for their engagement shoot. Unfortunatley the weather was a little on the dodgy side so we had a brisk walk along the sea front to get some pictures before we headed to 'The Duke' for a lovely pint of Early Bird - a personal favourite I was very pleased to introduce Trevor to!
Look out for Linda and Trevor's wedding on here in a couple of months' time, as we are really looking forward to being the photographers for their wedding at the Knowle in July...

Jenna & Chris' Wedding - The George Rye

Jenna & Chris chose the beautiful St Matthew's Church in Warehorne for the ceremony, where the Vicar Patricia gave a lovely service (honestly one of the nicest I've attended!)
It was then over the road for a celebratory glass of bubbly at the Woolpack, before heading off down to Rye. Being a man, I decided to ignore the advice I'd been given on parking, as of course I knew best, and ended up with a very steep walk up through the streets of Rye. I haven't been there for quite a while - it really is a very lovely town and I'm looking forward to going down for fish & chips once we get a sunny day...
The reception was held at The George Hotel where I must compliment all of the staff for the great service everyone received, not forgetting the chefs for some very tasty food!

Rebecca & Bradley's Engagement Shoot - Broadstairs

Just a quick update today, I've been meaning to get Rebecca & Brad's pictures online all week, however the silly season is really starting to kick off, it's great to be busy again after the calm of the winter, I just need to make sure I keep putting up new pictures every week!

Rebecca & Brad are getting married at the Fayreness in June, we're just hoping for a little less wind!

Lucie & Nolan's Engagement Shoot - Margate

Well, we all decided that coats would have been a good idea! Now I know that you should never believe the weather forecast, but the promise of sunny weather was too good an opportunity to miss, well as it turns out it missed us! Margate was freezing cold and blowing a gale! :(
My intentions were to take the guys for a walk along the harbour, this way we could get some great shots with Margate in the background. I only had to wait a couple of minutes for them to arrive, but in this short time two huge waves had crashed over the harbour wall, maybe not such a good idea!
Fortunately for us Cafe G was both warm and open, and after a couple of coffees we all had heated up enough to brave it for a bit, well just enough time to get a few nice pictures anyway...
The great thing about the engagement shoots is we don't have to put up with poor weather (and light) and after a quick (brisk jog!)around the Old Town, it was decided it would be best to reconvene for a second attempt another day, we're all looking forward to a nice evening in May down by the beach.
Lucie & Nolan are getting married at the fantastic Bell Hotel in Sandwich. With it's great interior and lovely surrounding area, we will be spoilt for great places to take pictures!

Winnie & Gee's Engagement Shoot - London

We're really looking forward to shooting Winnie & Gee's wedding in June. They have chosen the stunning Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire.

For their engagement shoot Winnie & Gee chose the Embankment and Covent Garden area of London. As always it was coffee first, then off for a wander, shooting as we went.

WE'VE MOVED! HELLO FAVERSHAM

Well the title says it all!



We are pleased to say that we have finally moved into our new home, in the lovely Kent town of Faversham.

Over the next few months you'll notice a few changes, as we look to make the most out of our great new location, in particular the launch of our portrait site which will be coming shortly.

Chris & Jenna's Engagement Shoot, Canterbury

We had lots of fun on Sunday getting together with Jenna & Chris for their E-shoot in Canterbury. Jenna and Chris are the lucky winners of Your Kent Wedding's competition for AWOL to photograph their wedding.

We started off the day in our usual way with a welcome cup of coffee and a catch up! We use the engagement shoots as a great opportunity to get together, chat about the wedding plans and make sure we know what's going on!

Once out and about we made a beeline for Chris & Jenna's cool milkshake bar 'Shake Shed' (I can't wait to go back for a sample) and then it was off for a wander round the town before they were off to have their banns read at Church ready for their April Wedding...

Well it's been a very busy few weeks, but finally the first pictures from our month long trip to Cuba are ready, if you would like to see more click here,you'll find the gallery in personal work.
There are more on the way, once we catch up!
We had an amazing time, with stunning weather and great cocktails, though the food was a real disappointment, poor KFC springs to mind!

ENZA & MATT'S WEDDING

Well it was back to earth with a very chilly bump! Having returned from Cuba (Photos are on their way) last Thursday to a freezing cold and soaking wet Gatwick morning, is there any other kind? I wasn't too optomistic for Saturday being too nice. I'm sure Enza couldn't believe her luck when looking out a glorious winters morning, and the fantastic view from the Richmond Hill Hotel. We certainly wanted to make the most of the winter sunshine, and nipped outside for a few shots, managing to get back in before we froze too much! Before heading off to the nice warm Wharf at Teddington for a few drinks and a fabulous dinner.

Matt & Enza's E-shoot

Saturday took us down to Richmond for Matt & Enza's engagement shoot, with their Christmas Wedding at the Richond Hill Hotel in Surrey to look forward to, they were very proud of the fact they were so organised, that they could spend the next few weekends going out and to friends for dinner!
So wrapped up warm and with coffee done and dusted, we took a walk along the river and round to the green, absolutely lovely and absolutely no rain, not bad for October :)

A new us!!

Well maybe not a new us, but certainly a new name!

Sam & Darrens E-Shoot

The fantastic Leeds Castle was our location for Sam & Darrens engagement shoot. With some nice weather finally here to enjoy, we made the most of it and used the lovely grounds for their pictures, Sam & Darren are getting married on the 12th of September next year at All Saints Church in Maidstone, let hope for more of this glorious Autmn sunshine!

Karen & Paul's Album

Thought I'd drop in a little taster from Karen & Paul's album, unfortunately I missed blogging their wedding so a little catch up now seems in order, their wedding was held at the lovely Old Kent Barn at Swingfield , where we were, as always impeccably looked after. It was a fantastic day, capped off with a fire dancing display by Circus Magic. A big thank you to Ted for coming along with me, though I'm sure the hog roast at the end of the night made up for all your hard work!

Liz & Rob's Wedding

This weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Liz & Rob's wedding at the delightful Quex House in Birchington, Kent. With Liz and the girls looking stunning, the boys had a lot to live up to - fortunately they had gone for a classic 50's style and were looking very cool indeed!
Later in the evening we continued this theme when Elvis turned up and incredibly entertaining he was too, I'll follow up later with what he had the guys doing on the dance floor!
